ABOUT ME

I think businesses that behave like good citizens are better.

I think if something is truly important it should be left to an expert - not somebody like me.

I'm still surprised these companies continue to think they can treat people that way. DO SOMETHING. Sometimes cities have property standards divisions. When I lived in Ottawa this is how I fought the property management company. Called in the city's property standards division. They tore the place apart and issued a notice to the company that they had 30 days to clean up a myriad of issues or else face a $20,000 fine. Look at all your legal options. They hate having to hire a paralegal.

I went in here yesterday evening at 8pm, 1 hour before closing. I was looking at a Yaris. I sat inside to test the legroom, and then looked at the information sheet in the window. I had some questions about financing, so I started looking around the store for a salesperson. I did a lap around the store and didn't see anybody. Reluctantly, I called out, "Hello?!" No answer. I went out into the lot, thinking maybe the salespeople were hanging around there. Nope. Then I noticed there were no cars on the road. The birds were not chirping. The street was totally desolated. Worried, I pulled out my cell phone to call my wife and ask her what was going on. No reception. I was in some kind of dead zone. "Hello??!!" I screamed. I heard some creatures skittering behind vehicles in the lot.

On my way to a hip party in Toronto I called these guys up for a mobile car wash. As I drove down the 401, going about 110 km an hour, one of their mobile wash vans came up in the lane beside me and these sort-of spray guns came out the side of the van and started hosing down my car. Then they pulled ahead of me, and this guy flew out of the back of the van, lying on his back on this sort-of wide skateboard thing that was tethered to the van. He slid right under my car and started going to town. Keep in mind - this is all happening while driving 110 km an hour! When it was all said and done I rolled down my window to pay, holding out three twenty dollar bills. They puled up close to get the money, but as I threw it at them it just blew away in the wind.
