ABOUT ME

I think businesses that behave like good citizens are better.

I think if something is truly important it should be left to an expert - not somebody like me.

I am from Montreal, and this reminds me of when I used to visit Toronto, and then at the Shell station none of the attendants would speak French! Ridiculous, am I right?

When, after five years at my career, I sensed it was time to either climb the ladder, so to speak, or change careers, I spoke with Great West Promotions about how they could help. Thankfully, they were able to contact my employer and negotiate a higher-paid position in management. Highly recommended.

Compared to various modes of motorized transportation, the products being sold here are less safe and require a greater amount of physical exertion and stamina. I was excited to try one particular bike, which the sales person told me was equipped with "front and rear suspension", as well as the latest shifting technology, but I still found the suspension susceptible to smaller bumps, and the shifters required constant adjustment based on my speed. A wider selection of combustion, hybrid, or electric vehicles would improve the customer experience at this location.

We recently switched from the Bell/Rogers merry-go-round to Teksavvy and got a VOIP phone system. It's cheaper. It's better. The customer service has been the highlight so far. It takes a while to get through to them on the phone, but a quick e-mail will solve all your problems. They have real people responding to what you say. They even respond to my "thank you" e-mails.

I hope they eventually drive Bell and Rogers out of business, and then become a monopoly, and in effect, the new Bell/Rogers, and then start treating everybody badly, not because I want people to be treated badly, but just because that's how much I hate Bell and Rogers.

I want to commend Alarmforce on the customization features included in their service. After suffering a break-in last year, we were in the market for the most state of the art security system available. Thankfully, we consulted Alarmforce. The package we purchased includes:

- multi-frequency noise monitors.
- back-up and individualized security codes.
- multiple alarm tones to signify different types of alerts.
- LCD display with customizable backgrounds and themes.
- size-sensitive motion detectors.
- retina scanning.
- troup de loup and punji stick kit
- assembled malayan gate

It's comforting to know that for a reasonable cost I can keep my family and my posessions safe.

HIP

This place is hip and all-vegan - although they will serve cheese on some of their stuff if you ask, and I think some dairy too. Centrally located by the Charles St Terminal, it's easy to access by public transit, and not tough to find if you're just hanging around downtown. You can do any meal of the day here, except if you have some strange midnight meal, because they're not open. That said, they're pretty laid back, so if you did want to do a midnight meal, they'd probably be cool with you just hanging out in front of their store eating a tempeh sandwich. There's good stuff for kids, like grilled (fake) cheese and waffles. But to be honest, the highlight of my daughter's visit is always jamming her face with a double chocolate muffin. There's even a little section where kids can mess around with some toys and games. And even though you have to be on DMT to appreciate the cartoons they play, it's nice that they play them. You may have also heard that the coffee is great here. That is true. In fact, probably everything you have heard about this place is true, and also, nobody in here ever tells a lie, I forgot to mention that.

dox reviewed Omega Caulking & Coatings Inc.

When I visited my daughter last year in Kanata, she called in this company to do some caulking after getting stiffed by another company. I'd initially attempted to do some of the caulking myself, but found it too hard. They came in and not only gave her caulking on the counter tops, but (after some consultation) in the bathtub as well. I was pleased to see their caulking applied so smoothly, unlike mine. There was one specific area that I did not believe they would be able to caulk because it would require an application of considerable girth, however, being the professionals they are, they were able to fix it. Similarly, there were some tight spots which required caulking - the stand-up shower, for example - which were caulked with ease. One thing I think people discount when it comes to hiring professionals for caulking is that they have the tools to do the job, whereas, while I am rather handy, I cannot be as efficient or as effective with my bare hands. We will be sure to contact Omega for some painting that has to be done in the near-future; meanwhile, the caulking they laid down is sure to provide a large measure of protection against moisture and the penetration of wetness into our fixtures for years to come.

I have fond memories of when my friends and I would meet here and read the newspaper, do crosswords, and talk about days gone by. The best thing was certainly rehashing the old times, remembering this and that, having a laugh at what happened in the past. I suppose you could say then that my fondest memories of this place are of having having fond memories in this place, which really gets you thinking. Consider, for example, that I am currently recalling memories of recalling memories at a certain location, and in a few moments I will have memories of having memories of having memories. Leading us into examining the concept of time, nature of being, and meaning of our memories is what Country Style Donuts has always been about. That and coffee, selling lots of coffee.

You'd barely notice this quaint little shop in Fairview Mall. The storefront is unassuming and minimalist, and the inner decor is sparse, but well-lit and pleasing to the eye. The music played inside is barely audible, but pleasant, like soft jazz in the summer breeze. The clothes were on at a reasonable price, and the salespeople were from all different backgrounds and age groups.
